Payments & Refunds
Sportbike Track Time requires payment in full upon enrollment accepting Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Courses will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, contingent on paid enrollments. We accept credit card payment via the internet on this web site. Note: If paying by check or money order, you must mail payment to Sportbike Track Time. Mailing a payment does not guaranteed your spot until we RECEIVE AND PROCESS the payment. If you are attempting to register for an event that is nearly sold out, mailing a check is probably not going to be a very safe bet. All returned checks will be charged $30 fee.
Note: You will receive a confirmation via email after placing your order as long as you provide your correct email address and you do not have a spam filter that blocks the STT address.
Phone Enrollments: Placing an order via phone is not the recommonded way to enroll. Enrollment can not be guaranteed until order is input into the system and payment is processed. During this time a customer placing a phone order runs the risk of missing out on the spot needed.
Prices posted are "Pre-Entry" prices. "Pre-Entry is defined as 16 days or more prior to the event. Registrations made 15 to 6 days prior, are "Post-Entry" and subject to a $15 surcharge. All registrations received 5 days or less prior to an event are considered "At Track Sign Ups" and will be subject to a $25 surcharge. This policy will be strictly enforced as it rewards those who commit early and plan ahead while still allowing last minute registrations on a space available basis.
Cancellations and changes MUST be received in writing at least 30 days prior to the scheduled course date. Upon receipt of this written notification, refunds will be given less a 15% administrative charge only if a cancellation request is received 30 days in advance in writing (email, fax or letter). Cancellations made between 30 and 15 days prior to an event will be granted a credit for another track date useable for a period of year from the canceled event (credits are tracked and can only be transfered one time) . No cancellations will be accepted 14 days or less prior to an event but you will have the option to sell or give away your spot.
STT Events at Mid Ohio The above cancellation policy applies to events at Mid-Ohio however, if you want to move your track day after purchase you will be charged a $50 administrative fee to move your date. This is applicable at any time EXCEPT within 14 days of your scheduled track day. No cancellations will be accepted 14 days or less prior to an event but you will have the option to sell or give away your spot.
Give/Sell - Members may give/sell a track day to a member of the same skill group at any time. STT must be notified of the give/sell via email no less than 48 hours prior to the event. The person who you are giving/selling your spot to must be a current STT member. STT memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Customers can post their spots for sale on the STT, WERA and GSB Forums.
Each venue has it's own restrictions and guidelines for the proper age of a rider. Prior to enrolling with STT you must check with the venue to obtain the necessary information to ride at that track. STT rules and guidelines are that the rider must be 14 years of age and hold a racing license. Parent or guardian must sign STT's waiver along with rider and show proof of riders age, photo ID, and racing license. If proper documentation is not presented enrollment fess will not be refunded.BE AWARE!!!! All Sportbike Track Time venues have a "rain-or-shine policy". The track facility will call rain days, you must be present to receive a voucher. Rain-check vouchers are non-transferable and expire 12 months from date of issue. Sorry, there are no exceptions. In the extremely unlikely event that management at a venue calls the day prior to any on-track activity due to the track being deemed "non-ridable", a make up date may be issued for a future date of the venues choosing. This date will be the sole remedy and no refunds/credits for future events will be issued by Sportbike Track Time. An event voucher will be issued to all riders scheduled for the event. This voucher may be transferred to another current STT member of the same skill level group if desired.
Rider Age Limits:
STT's Minor policy is as follows:
No one under 14 will be allowed to ride, do not ask. Riders 14 to 16 years old may ride if they hold a VALID competition license with a nationally recognized road racing sanctioning body. Riders 16 and 17 may ride if the possess a valid drivers license.
Any rider under 18 must have a properly executed K&K minor waiver and a legal guardian must accompany them to the event and remain on-site for the duration.
In all cases the individual venue rules supersede Sportbike Track Time policy.
Note:
Mid-Ohio does not allow ANY rider under 18 to participate.

Tracks that STT is aware of that are not pets friendly are:
Barber, Grattan, Mid Ohio, Moroso, Pocono,
We want the venues that are pet friendly to stay pet friendly therefore STT will enforce the following rules:
1) Pets must be on a leash at all times (even after hours) when outside a vehicle.
2) You must clean up after your pet. If we step in your dog's poop expect to find crap in your boots! Enough said.

Risk Awareness (This is not badminton you're participating in...)
This is the disclosure statement that you will be expected to sign prior to participating in one of our track events:
Sportbike Track Time, its associates, sponsors, and the local facility cannot assume any responsibility for any aspect of my safety and that participating in any motorcycle track events, I do so voluntarily on my own assessment of my ability, the course, conditions, and facilities, assuming all risk whatsoever. I hereby release and hold Sportbike Track Time, its associates and sponsors harmless for any injury or loss to my person or property, which may result. I understand that this is an inherently dangerous and life-risking activity and that I cannot hold Sportbike Track Time, its associates, sponsors, the local facility or person or any other person responsible for any injury or death resulting to myself or my property at any such events. Decisions made by Sportbike Track Time, associates, and sponsors will be final.
Crash Policy
First, the simple answer...don't do it. But we all know it can happen. If you crash before lunch, you will sit out until after lunch. If you crash after lunch, you are finished for the day. Sportbike Track Time must re-tech a crashed bike prior to it's return to the racetrack. If you re-enter the track without re-teching your bike, you will be asked to load up your equipment and leave the facility. This is for the safety of everyone.
All riders who have a crash must be evaluated by the on-site paramedic staff. If they determine you should not proceed with the day, their decision is final. If the paramedic staff determines you may physically return to riding, Sportbike Track Time STILL must approve your return to riding based on criteria which includes the manner of your crash, as well as the condition of your gear. This decision is made on a case-by-case basis. There is no appeal to this policy.
The bottom line...ride within your limits. If you don't know your limits, slow down.

Privacy Policy (No, we don't sell your information to the highest bidder...)
Here's the straight answer. We have been around the internet for a long time, and are sick and tired of having our information sold, given away to "third party" partners, getting "special offers", etc. As such, we are fanatical about security and the privacy of our customer's personal information, from using encrypted transmission methods in the payment areas to our commitment to keep your information safe and private. Period. STT will make offers available to members from time to time, this is the only time you will receive solicitations.
Skill Levels and Event Format Info and Explanations:
First, please be aware that we do not teach you “how to ride”. To participate as a first time Novice in an STT event you must be comfortable riding at highway speeds and in moderate traffic.
EVENT FORMATS
Please be advised that certain event formats listed below require minimum skill level requirements. Read each description completely and if you have questions regarding your suitability always error on the side of caution.
Standard Three Group: We run separate Novice, Intermediate and Advanced groups. Each group receives one (1) 20-minute session per hour and typically there are seven rotations
ALL-in-TWO (TM): New two-group format which accommodates all three skill levels, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced. Two groups are available, Sport & Supersport. Sport is for Novice and low to mid level Intermediates. This group will still have classroom sessions for Novice riders and Track Coaches but the on-track format will be less restrictive. Supersport is mid to upper Intermediates and Advanced. Each group receives 30-minutes of track time each hour. This is a great way to maximize your track time. Passing Rules. Sport Group: Straights and outside of turns with a six-foot safety zone. Supersport Group: Safe passing allowed anyplace on the track with a six-foot safety zone. ALL IN TWO FORMAT IS A MORE OPEN FORMAT THEN THE TRADITIONAL STT THREE GROUP NOVICE FORMAT. IT MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR THE RIDER WHO MAY BE DOING THEIR FIRST TRACK DAY...
Max-Time (TM): Format accommodates Intermediate and Advanced riders in an “open track” combined format. These events will start with a 15-minute session for each group to allow riders to warm up and then switch to an open-track format where you may come and go as you please. IMPORTANT: The Max-TimeTM format is exclusively for experienced “I” and “A” group riders.
Limitited Endurance Days (TM) (LED) : These events are for Intermediate and Advanced riders only (No Novice riders are allowed). The two skill groups run separately and each receive 30 minutes per hour of track time.
Proformance Riding Options (PRO) School.
For riders who are SERIOUS ABOUT TAKING THEIR SKILLS TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
This high intensity maximum track time PROgram's curriculum is based on the riders individual needs. Instructor to student ratio is 3:1 or less. PRO School Staffers are proven leaders on the track and in the classroom. Lot's of individual attention and MAXIUM TRACK TIME!! Be prepared to ride between 120-150 laps (200-250 miles!!!) during your day. Limited to just 20 students total per event, split into 2 groups that alternate on-track & class sessions.
"Don't follow the leader, take a PRO School and become one!"
All events on the STT Schedule are Three Group format unless noted otherwise.
SKILL LEVELS:
Novice Group: NOTE: If you have no prior motorcycle track experience you must register in the Novice group. Designed for street riders and new(er) track riders and those seeking a relaxed pace. This group provides valuable on-track and classroom training.
We include an introduction to track safety rules prior to the first track session. Novice group receives class room and on-track instruction, including critiquing of on-track skills. Instructors will accompany riders on all track sessions. Your instructor will supervise you throughout your day. You will learn/review how to enter and exit the track safely, and use of the flags and their meanings. During your classroom and on-track sessions learn the "racing line", proper use of the throttle, braking, gear changes and selection as well as basic cornering techniques and body positioning. The pace is "comfortable". Everyone rides at his or her own pace with an emphasis on fun and learning.
STT's Novice group is structured. All Novice group riders must attend all class-room sessions and ride within their group. We are aware that many riders chose the Novice group multiple times this is why we divide the Novice group into several sub-groups based on skill level.
Intermediate Group: This group is for people with enough track time that they are comfortable at an accelerated riding pace up to the beginning racer. Riders in this group will probably want to focus heavily on body position, setting up for turns, the racing line, and advanced throttle/braking control. Instructors will be available upon request whenever possible. Safe passing is permitted anywhere with a 6-foot minimum safety cushion. The track tempo is intermediate to fast. No licensed racers permitted in this group unless cleared by Sportbike Track Time Staff. Riders in this group MUST wear a back protector.
Advanced Group: Intended for the club racer or very accomplished track rider. You will gain valuable track time preparing for your next race, or just enjoy further refinement of your skills. The pace is fast and there are no restrictions on SAFE passing. Riders in this group must be comfortable passing and being passed in very close proximity to other riders and at high speeds. Riders in this group MUST wear a back protector.
A note about selecting your proper skill level: The staff of Sportbike Track Time believes that you, our members are best qualified to choose the skill level and type of event which best suits your needs. Please be honest with yourself and us when selecting a skill group. If you are an Intermediate rider and only advanced spots are available, please do not do your fellow riders the disservice of registering for the Advanced group, hoping to swap out or figuring you can “make it work”. If it is obvious that you have intentionally registered for an improper group ABOVE your skill level, you risk losing your riding privileges for that day and will not receive a refund or credit.
If you register for a lower skill level.. Intermediate rider registering for Novice or Advanced registering for Intermediate, you will be expected to follow the guidelines of the group, adhere to all rules governing that group and if necessary, adjust your pace and level of aggression to match the group.
FLAGS USED AT AN STT EVENT - KNOW WHAT EACH FLAG MEANS
GREEN - The track is open!
RED - The track is closed, most likely due to a crash or some other hazard that needs to be cleaned up. Put your arm in the air when you see this flag and slow your pace considerably but predictably. Continue at a safe speed and leave the track when you reach the EXIT point unless directed otherwise. DO NOT STOP ON THE TRACK EVER!!!!!
CHECKERED - End of the session, continue your lap and leave the track when you reach the EXIT point.
YELLOW - This flag could be waiving or steady. STEADY or STATIONARY means that you need to sharpen your focus and be aware of a potential distraction. This could be a slower rider ahead, a bike well off the track but still visually distracting. DO NOT grab a big hand full of brakes...you will get run over. Maintain your pace and obey passing rules.
WAIVING slow your pace slightly and be extra vigilant for a possible trouble spot. The track will remain open but there is some kind of hazard that could cause a problem. Passing is NOT allowed within the zone where this flag is displayed!
BLACK - This flag will be pointed directly at you and means that there is either something wrong with your bike or your actions. Raise your arm to let the corner worker know you saw the flag and move off the racing line in case you are leaking fluids. Come into the pits and report to the track control official.
AMBULANCE - Someone has crashed and is injured and needs immediate attention. This flag will be accompanied by a RED flag. The ambulance is on the track and heading for the crash site. Put your arm in the air when you see this flag and slow your pace considerably. Leave the track when you reach the EXIT point.

Bike Preparation
1) All bikes MUST pass technical inspection prior to admittance to the track. If your bike DOES NOT pass tech inspection, you will NOT receive a refund.
2) Tires and brakes must be in good condition. Tires should be at least 75% of new condition. Any tires that are bluing from excessive wear will be disallowed. Slicks are allowed in 85% plus condition. We will have on site tire service at each track day, so if your tires don't pass, you will have the opportunity to put on replacement tires to pass tech.
3) All glass, headlight, turn signals, and plastic lenses must be taped over or removed. Side mirrors must be removed for the advanced group and at least taped over for all other groups.
4) We recommend, but do not require removal of center stands. No bikes with center stands will be allowed in the Advanced/Racer Group due to the ground clearance issue.
5) All machines must have an operational handlebar mounted kill switch/button and self-closing throttle in good working condition.
6) Advanced and Intermediate group riders MUST use water or water wetter or a non-ethyl glycol based anti-freeze/coolant. Approved Poly Glycol brands are: Evans, 7th Gear, Liquid Performance, and Engine Ice. NO AUTOMOTIVE ETHYL GLYCOL BASED COOLANTS ARE ALLOWED.

We can arrange to deliver your new back protector to you the day of your event or ship it to you home. We will have a limited number (6-10 per event) of back protectors for rent. No back protector = no track time!!!
2009 Season: STT recommonds the use of chest protectors.
